Many fruits are beneficial to the health of human beings. With the overwhelmingly large variety of fruit known to the world today, it can be a struggle to choose the best fruit for your taste. Here are five highly nutritious fruits that are also appetizing!

  1. Bananas

    Bananas are a great source of potassium, which helps with muscle contraction, nerve functions, body fluid regulation, and the movement of nutrients and waste products. According to healthline.com, bananas also contain many prebiotics, which contribute to the growth of good bacteria in the gut. On top of this, bananas contain Vitamin B6, Vitamin C, and Magnesium, which along with potassium, are nutrients that provide for your daily recommended intake or Daily Value.

  2. Oranges

    According to healthline.com, oranges are not only rich in vitamin C, but they are also great sources of thiamine, folate, and potassium. All of these nutrients benefit the human body differently. For example, Vitamin C helps to protect our cells and health; It gives us healthy skin, blood vessels, bones, and cartilage. Thiamine allows the body to convert carbohydrates into energy. Folate assists the body in the making of red blood cells. In addition to these supplements, healthline.com states that oranges may lower levels of inflammation, blood pressure, cholesterol, and post-meal blood sugar.

  3. Avocados

    Avocados are packed with many healthy fats such as oleic acid, which is strongly linked with good health. Avocados also contain potassium, fiber, folate, and vitamins B6, E, and K, which all nourish the body greatly. According to medicalnewstoday.com, Vitamin B6 benefits the central nervous system and metabolism. Mayoclinic.org says, Vitamin E is a nutrient that’s important to vision, reproduction, and the health of your blood, brain and skin. Vitamin K helps with blood clotting, which helps wounds heal.

  4. Grapes

    Grapes are great for heart health, as they are packed with potassium and vitamin K . Healthline.com states that grapes are a rich source of beneficial plant compounds that have been linked to numerous health benefits, such as a lowered risk of heart disease and certain types of cancer. Compounds known as polyphenols are responsible for these health benefits. Examples of polyphenols found in grapes include resveratrol, caffeic acid, and anthocyanins.

  5. Apples

    Apples contain large amounts of fiber. Fiber helps regulate your blood sugar levels and support good digestion, as well as promotes gut and heart health. To be specific, one of the main fibers in apples is called pectin, which primarily support gut health. In addition, apples are great for your skin since they are excellent sources of vitamin C. Furthermore, It is suggested that apples may lower the risks of getting heart disease, stroke, cancer, and obesity (Davidson).

There are plenty of other fruits that are just as delicious and healthy as these five fruits, but these specific fruits can be easily accessed in local grocery stores and are generally sold for reasonable prices. Eating fruit is a great way to start a healthy lifestyle, so try one of these fruits and you might find a new favorite food!
